Agile Development and Software Quality
Writing has always been a hobby. However, in 2009, when I was hit with a layoff, I started writing about Quality Assurance. Besides my popular QA blog, I wrote the following articles about QA:
Defective Baby: Six Ways for More Effective Communication with Developers - uTest blog
Crowdsource Testing - StickyMinds
Distributed Agile - The Key to Building Strong Distributed Teams - SoftwareTestingClub
Taking Advantage of a Centralized QA Organization
The writing paid off and in January, 2010, I was offered a position as the Site Editor for SearchSoftwareQuality.com where I write expert responses, aritcles, tips, and blog posts, as well as producing podcasts, webcasts and videocasts. I cover many of the major Software QA conferences, interviewing CEOs, thought-leaders, authors and industry experts. Soon after I started blogging for Software Quality Insights, the blog moved up in rankings to being named 13th of the 100 best blogs about Software Quality and Testing and won the award for TechTarget's best blog of 2010. The site, itself, has experienced huge growth in membership and traffic. This position has allowed me to stay current on the latest trends, technologies and tools in Software Quality Assurance as well as personally get to know many industry greats.

The Lighter Side
Though I've done a lot of writing about software development and technology, I also enjoy writing articles about a variety of interests including running, personal growth, relationships, and travel. I've hosted many active blogs and been a guest blogger for others who write on these topics. Typically, I write with a lighter, informal voice and have been compared to Erma Bombeck.
Below is a sampling of some of the writing I've done for various publications.
Writing about Relationships and Travel
I served as the Boulder Dating Adviser on Examiner.com from March of 2011 through May of 2012, publishing dozens of articles. The column about dating in Boulder area includes examples of travel writing.
